Shinto
is a religion at the heart of Japanese society
and traditions. The popularity of Shinto is
fading though, and as a religion of such national
importance to Japan a resource of knowledge
is needed to help strengthen it's waning numbers.
While Shinto is not normally seen out of Japan,
there are still groups of Shintoists practicing
around the world. People need to be more open
to these various religions, and past descendants
of Japanese culture more open to their heritage
and culture. This site is about this knowledge
and understanding, to help increase awareness
of religion that day by day is becoming less
and less popular. Across the site you will see
buttons like the one above next to Torii,
click others to learn the meaning of the word.
You can also click Launch Vocabulary
at the top of each page.
